Psychodrama

What is psychodrama?

Psychodrama is a form of expressive arts, but it begs to use one's inner and real material from their own lives and personal realities.  As usual with expressive art modalities, the work stimulates, investigates, explores, enlivens and enriches a participant's sense of self.  As well, their response to outer life, their response to inner life, and the resolution of roles that one experiences in life, are endeavored with the method. With this, the hope is that one gains more spontaneity and freedom in daily interactions.
This Expressive Art form literally is what it says it is, it is a drama of psyche.  Past, present, and future realities may be explored and handled in ways that the client wishes to experience in pursuing their goals for the session.  The spontaneity is what Dr. Adam Blatner, referencing Dr. Moreno, noted as a hallmark for mental health, because it demonstrates our ability to pick up and let go of life, therefore allowing an individual to stay grounded in the present moment of our own needs, and our own self-care.  And this consequently allows individuals a chance to be more creative with the world around them, leading to further personal development. See references from the following link and the author Dr. Rob Promann http://www.ssccc.com/pcid.pdf, along with other helpful links regarding Psychodrama, in the helpful resources tab on the website.

You'll notice I'm seen in this video, offering some feedback of my own experience of the art....  Please also see the helpful links in the resources page. I'm available in a workshop setting with the Central Texas Pyschodrama Institute at www.CentralTexasPsychodrama.com And my link here to my certification on the International certification website www.psychodramacertification.org
